AIC was established in 1992 as the first CRTC approved Long Distance Telecommunications Company operated by Ethnic Canadians in British Columbia, Canada. By the following year we had opened our first customer service center at Aberdeen Centre Mall, strategically located in the heart of Richmond, BC's strong Chinese Community. That same year we opened our second Customer Services Centre in Metrotown Mall, Burnaby, BC. In the later half of the year we opened an Ontario location to provide complete Telecom services for both Eastern and Western Canada.

1994 marked a heavier push for us toward cross-Pacific communication. We formed AIC Telecom Ltd in Hong Kong and became an Inter-exchange Carrier allowing us to provide Direct Access 1+ and 011 dialing for all customers in British Columbia.

The following years we focused on diversifying our reach into the ethnic markets in Eastern and Western Canada. The AIC Direct Sales Division was formed to handle this need. We also introduced new services to your existing customers. Global Calling Post Paid service was launched allowing our customers to make their calls anywhere in the world and pay their bills with their monthly invoices. We also added Direct-Dialing from over 45 countries and a Rechargeable Debit Card was introduced as well.

In 1996 AIC added its first Internet service simply called Dial-up Internet Access Service. This was the first ever Long Distance/Internet Bundle Service launched and marked a turning point in the focus of our company. AIC relinquished all shares in AIC Telecom Ltd. HK and moved network expansion activities to Europe. AIC UK, AIC USA, AIC Taiwan, AIC HK, and AIC Japan were opened between the years of 1997 and 1999. In this time more features were added to our services. Enhanced AICOMpro Internet, Beepro Paging, and Cellpro Digital Celluar were added to our reliable and high quality long distance services. We also established a new customer service centre in Calgary.

Between 1999 and 2000 AIC stepped up its Internet based offerings. Pushing to become a forerunner in Internet-based telephony solutions AIC released AIC ADSL GO High Speed Internet, one of the first high-speed Internet service providers available in British Columbia. We also launched the First Chinese Entertainment and Lifestyle Audio/Visual Webcast Website in North America, FunFun2.com. In 2001/2002 we expanded on this by adding fiber connectivity to AIC Vancouver and Toronto gateways. Funfun2.com reached over 50,000 daily hits across Canada. Another customer service centre was opened in Edmonton.
